Charity match (Lviv - Berlin)

On Friday, September 23, the Ukrainian city of Lviv and the German capital Berlin will play a charity match. The one-day competition will bring together some of the most famous personalities of German and Ukrainian chess without them meeting directly, as it will be held in a hybrid format. Astana FIDE Women's Grand Prix - after round no 3

Lagno, Kateryna, Assaubayeva, Bibisara, Zhu, Jiner 2/3. etc. More - official page The Women’s Grand Prix Series 2022-23 will feature a total of 16 players, and each one of them will participate in three out of four WGP tournaments. Each WGP tournament is played with twelve (12) players round robin. In each WGP tournament, every player scores WGP points according to her position in the final standings; the winner of the WGP Series is a player who scores the most cumulative points earned in all three WGP tournaments she played. The total prize fund for each one of the four events is €80,000, with another €80,000 being distributed among the top 8 finishers in the overall standings for the Grand Prix series. The two (2) players who score more cumulative points in the WGP series qualify for the FIDE Women Candidates Tournament 2023-24.

The   Julius Baer Generation Cup  is the 7th of 9 events on the $1.6 million 2022 Meltwater Champions Chess Tour and takes place on chess24 from September 18-25.  The 16-player field will be cut in half by the 4-day round-robin Prelims. The total prize fund is $150,000, with $750 for a win and $250 for a draw in the Prelims.  The quarterfinals and semi-finals are 1-day, 4-game matches, while the final will feature two such matches over two days. The players have 15 minutes for all their moves, plus a 10-second increment starting from move 1. In the Prelims there are 3 points for a win and 1 for a draw.  If a tiebreak is required the players will play two 5+3 games and then, if needed, a single Armageddon game, where White has 5 minutes to Black's 4, but a draw counts as a win for Black.  No draw offers are allowed before move 40.  Official website

GCT 9th Sinquefield Cup 2022, Saint Louis - after round 2

  The Sinquefield Cup is a 10-player classical round-robin taking place in the Saint Louis Chess Club from 2-11 September 2022.  It's the fifth and final stage of the 2022 Grand Chess Tour, a series of five events with a total prize fund of $1.4 million. The players receive 90 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes to the end of the game, plus a 30-second increment starting from move one.  Official website
