Biel Chess Festival, interesting game: Frederik Svane - Chithambaram Aravindh

  Today at the Biel Chess Festival, an interesting game was played between Frederik Svane and Chithambaram Aravindh . White used the new move 13.b3 . The German Grandmaster developed a very promising position but later made several mistakes. We'd like to draw your attention to an interesting endgame where white had a Bishop and a Rook for his Queen. Of course, we're posting the game on the website.

In today's first round of classical chess, the Masters group saw all games end in draws. The results were: * GM Fedoseev, Vladimir ½-½ GM Aravindh, Chithambaram * GM Wojtaszek, Radoslaw ½-½ GM Svane, Frederik * GM Salem, A.R. Saleh ½-½ GM Murzin, Volodar Despite all games being drawn, the play was quite engaging. We especially want to highlight the thrilling game between Salem and Murzin, which featured plenty of action and we'll be posting on our website. In the diagrammed position, Black played 15. ...e5? If White had now played 16.Nc5! , the game could have ended in their victory.
