Biel Chess Festival, interesting game: Frederik Svane - Chithambaram Aravindh

 

Today at the Biel Chess Festival, an interesting game was played between Frederik Svane and Chithambaram Aravindh.
White used the new move 13.b3. The German Grandmaster developed a very promising position but later made several mistakes. We'd like to draw your attention to an interesting endgame where white had a Bishop and a Rook for his Queen. Of course, we're posting the game on the website.

The prestigious Andersen Memorial is set to take place in Wrocław from August 2nd to 10th. Today, a draw was enough for Lei Tingjie to advance. It must be admitted that Umida Omonova tried hard, tightened her position, and pushed for victory. FIDE Women’s World Cup 2025 quarterfinals – who will play whom?

The FIDE Women's World Cup 2025 has reached the quarterfinals, with only eight top chess players remaining: four from India, three from China, and one from Georgia. The first games are set for tomorrow, and we're currently assessing the chances of each pairing: GM Nana  Dzagnidze 2505  -  GM T ingjie Lei 2552 Tingjie Lei , the number one seed, is having an excellent tournament, winning all her games so far in the regular season without needing tiebreaks.
