Today, the Grandmaster Tournament in České Budějovice (28.06-06.07.2025) ended. The winner was the grandmaster from Germany Alexander Donchenko, and the second place was taken by Anton Korobov from Ukraine.

The game evolved to a position where White opted for a knight sacrifice on f7, which Black captured with another knight. Following 15.Qh5, Black played Nge7, gaining a significant advantage. An intriguing alternative would have been for White to continue the sacrificial strategy by playing Wxf7 instead of 15.Qh5, and after Kxf7, playing 16.Qh5.
